We’re going to take a break from the standard Forum discussion this week.

I’d like you to read about a local quarterback who recently died from a lacerated spleen. The injury was not preventable by normal standards, but is no less traumatic. I would like you to consider how you, as a coach, would handle this situation. How would you respond on the field? How would you talk to your players? The media? What could you do for the parents?

Here is a link to get you started. I would like you to read at least two other sources and cite those sources. This is an opinion piece, but I would like your opinions to be supported. Word count on this assignment is flexible, however answers should be of an academic caliber.
