Coding guideline is like our federal law. Regardless of what facility (inpatient or outpatient) you are working for, you have to follow coding guideline. AHIMA and AAPC also recommend students to read coding guideline at least 3 times before you go for the certification exam.This is the most common mistake that students have made, not reading coding guideline before taking the certification exam.
