In addition, you will have the opportunity to compare and contrast two reflection models in part 2.

1. Identify and discuss at least 3 values that guide your decisions in your personal and professional life.

2. Identify and discuss your personal and professional strengths and why they are important for your personal and professional development. Include what inspires you, your core qualities, passion and your strengths as a professional colleague

Part 2 (500-700 words) provides you with the opportunity to compare and contrast two (2) models of reflection. You will use one of these models when you complete Assessment 2
Choose one of the following reflection models (Rolfe or Gibbs) and compare and contrast it with the Wanda, Fowler and Wilson 2016 model. (Models are available in the Reflection Models section of the SNPG950 Moodle Site)

1. What do you perceive to be the strengths, limitations, similarities and differences of each model and why?
2. Which model do you prefer and why? (if you are undecided explain why)
It is crucial to acknowledge your sources of information by supporting your discussion with evidence from the literature (in-text and in a reference list on a separate page at the end of the essay).

Use the first person (I//we/me/my/our) when referring to yourself and when you are part of a group. Use the third person (the nurse, the client, he, she, it, him, his, her, hers, they, their,) when referring to others/things. Do not use the second person (your, your, yours).

Remember, the combined total for both parts of this assessment is 1500 words. Be clear and concise yet comprehensive in your writing. Start reading and writing as soon as possible so you have time to critically examine and understand the literature before teasing out the key points/themes for discussion.
Use of creative formats that support your interpretation, analysis and discussion are encouraged. For example (but not limited to):
• •? Video 3-5 minutes, including a credits/referencing section either within the video or in the reference list in the submitted Word document (Provide a link to the uploaded video within the Word document) [YouTube or Vimeo]

Reflection for Practice: Task 1

Event Description
In the last year on my night shift, when I worked in Emergency department in Mental Health and Addiction hospital. A 45 year- old male came to Emergency department by the police he was the addiction patient and diagnosed as dual diagnosis related to use amphetamine for the long-time period. When I covered this patient I asked him you have any history medical problem regarding to the nursing assessment, he had told me yes, I felt myocarditis I believe him because that’s my values in nursing when a patient told anything whether psychiatric or addiction patient should be believe this patient, so I documented in nursing assessment and I informed the doctor about it but he do not care about it, because in the mental and addiction hospital sometimes the doctors not believe the patient especially the dual diagnosis patients and they called them disingenuous patients because when they admission to hospital by police they want to stay the long time in the hospital because they are punishment and imprisonment of them and in this case that the patient has stay a half duration in hospital he is pardoned. Also, When I covered this patient, he complains chest pain, so I administered oxygen by face mask. Also, I informed the doctor about this issue. However, I called the medical doctor as well to see the patient, he came and changed diagnosis from dual diagnosis to myocarditis diagnosis and he reassessment as a protocol in ministry of health. Also, the therapeutic therapy team informed the family of patient about that happened to the patient, so they were shocked when they knew that he had a heart problem and that may could threaten his life. Now, they considered him sick and must come to the hospital while he was in dual diagnosis they did not come with the patient and did not ask about his health because he was addicted. So, the family change the value of culture of the addiction patient that it is a disease of the same as any other disease in which an individual person suffers and that it is necessary to support and encourage from the family and stand with the patient until the healing and get rid of addiction. In addition, the thinking of some of the treated team of doctors and counsellors and recovery specialist and psychologist, that addiction is considered a disease and not bad behaviour as some of them believe that and this is change the concept of addiction as disease and is treated with correction behaviour, increase faith, support the motivation and treatment as well. So, they changed that opinion of an addiction patient like another patient need to treatment and rehabilitation and increasing support and motivation as well to achievement the goal of healing.
