This class is a senior-level Psychology of Religion class at a Baptist university. I would be writing from a general Protestant perspective. Directions below. “Students are asked to consider a current social question within the context of science, religion, and faith, and to write a paper integrating findings from research on the role and impact of religion on individual and sociocultural development around their topic of interest. Students will critically review the literature they select to support their conclusions related to religious belief and practice from a multiframework perspective with respect to various religious orientations, cultures, traditions, practices, and trends. As part of the course requirements, students will complete a research paper (8-10 pages, excluding title page and bibliography) on a specific topic of psychology and religion. This paper is designed to get students involved in an in-depth exploration of a particular topic (and body of research). The paper is due March 24, 2018 FORMAT OF RESEARCH PAPER The paper (8-10 pages, excluding title page and bibliography) must be typed, double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides in 12-point font. The bibliographical section of your paper must be in American Psychological Association format and completely referenced. Paper needs to have a Title page, introduction, body (with sections delineated by clear transition sentences), conclusion, and a reference page with at least 8 scholarly references. Papers are to be turned in through Blackboard. No paper or emailed copies will be accepted. Make sure you employ critical thinking skills to analyze your position. It is important to state your position and build a strong argument, integrating scientific and faith information. Give a thoughtful rationale for your position. Your paper will be evaluated on critical thinking and evaluative skills as well as your writing style.”
