The first man to land, walk and place his footprints on the lunar surface was [ Neil Armstrong ] , who was part of the Apollo 11 mission towards the moon in 1969, and as he begins to step on the lunar surface, he said “As one small step for man, One giant leap for mankind”.

Because he was the first man in the Apollo 11 mission to step out the Lunar Module that he was in since before he arrived on the moon.
