Victimologists have created a variety of victim typologies that are based on the notion of “shared responsibility” between the victim and the offender. In what ways (if any) do these typologies contribute meaningfully to our understanding of crime and victimization and how might they reinforce victim blaming? Is it possible to create a typology that would not appear to blame victims? How?
