4) Term paper (15%) Each student is required to write a 7 page term paper on a city. The city will be assigned early in the semester. The paper should discuss the various aspects of the city’s development, for example, its history, economy, demographics and ethnicity, among others. The paper will be graded upon a few items: the organization and structure of the paper, clarity of the writing, logic of the reasoning, references, among others. Students will be required to make a 5-10 minutes presentation about their term papers to the class during the last two weeks.
