  • Examine two ways in which advertising can change the consumer’s perception of a product and thereby affect the decision to purchase. Support your answer with examples.
  • 1) Exposure- The more consumers know about a product the better and that will affect their decision to purchase your product. That is why target marketing and promotions is crucial. Pinpoint who will more than likely buy your product and then make your product stand out from the rest.

         2) Customer service- Showing your customers that you care will have a strong affect on whether they continue to purchase your product or not. Customers are loyal to businesses that are consistent with keeping them informed on the latest products, services and a positive attitude goes a long way.

  •  Propose one strategic idea that could launch a regionally famous American product into the global market. Provide two examples to support your idea and determine whether your approach would or would not work for every country. Support your response. 
  • One strategic idea that could launch a regionally famous American product into the global market is positioning your brand properly. Know where your biggest competition is and how they are doing. Know where your product will be successful being sold at and to whom is your target market.
  • Example- If I had wanted to expand a fried chicken restaurant to Tokyo, I need to be sure that it’s not located next to a KFC or a Popeyes. If I decide to locate it amongst my competitors, I need to offer something different than them to make our products stand out. Such as a dollar menu, know the taste buds of Japanese people so I can alter our menu to their tastes also.
  • Example- Let’s say I worked for Dunkin Donuts and decided to expand to Australia, I need to see where the largest portion of the population resides so I can place a store somewhere in the proximity of their residences and make sure it will easy for them to access the location.
