This unit begins with an overview of the structure and function of the cardiovascular system. Principles of blood flow, the role of the heart as a pump, and systemic circulation control of blood flow will be considered, in addition to neurologic control of circulatory function. We then turn our attention to disorders of blood flow, including but not limited to:
