For the Session Long Project, you will be exploring your role as a junior faculty member in Higher Education in an online learning environment. The project requires you to examine your role in terms of designing courses for students to ensure that they are provided with a meaningful learning experience in their education. You will also be formulating assessment strategies for the courses you design.

For the Second Component of Session Long Project (Module 2):

Your assignment is to write a 4-5 page paper in which you describe how you would transform a course in Higher Education from a traditional learning environment into an online learning environment.

Suppose that the university at which you have been hired offers Higher Education courses in both traditional (face-to-face) settings as well as their new on-line branch. However, the course in Higher Education was previously offered only in a face-to-face learning environment.

Identify any major differences in the content that would be offered, and potential challenges or hurdles in teaching higher education courses over the Internet versus a classroom. Hints: You might want to discuss communication issues with students, formats for how the material would be presented, etc. Please do not discuss your intended methods of student assessment.
