Micropipetting. ( Yes just simple but including all details on micropippets) 

Laboratory Report:

Title – In the text, write the name of the lab activity at the top of the page (ex. Micropipetting 1).

Introduction with Objectives – include two, a technical purpose (ex. Practice micropipetting) and an investigative (ex.

Evaluate my pipetting and investigate factors which affect pipetting). If indicated by the instructor or you think you should,

include a prediction of the results and/or conclusion. If in the end, you find out something other than the prediction, that is

absolutely okay and very common.

Materials and Methods (Procedures) – Be extremely detail oriented! Be so detailed, someone who has never done the lab

before could replicate all your procedures perfectly. As you do the procedure, make notes which indicate any changes to the

printed protocol, mistakes that happened, and especially all the details you did which were missing in the printed protocol.

Write the procedure section immediately after doing the lab. You can either re-write the entire procedure or add the

additional material to the printed protocol.

Results – Includes things like raw data, tables, graphs, figures, pictures, drawings, etc. Always label your figures and

provide supporting text (i.e. describe your results in the text).

Conclusion – Discussion – as applicable, include summaries of the results; draw conclusions (describe i.e., what the

results mean) according to how your results relate to your objectives; discuss mistakes or problems if they affected your

analysis or conclusions; discuss improvements for next time.
