Your 45 year old patient has recently been diagnosed with the spinal form of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He is already displaying signs of weakness in his arms and legs. He uses a wheelchair to access the dental office and he chooses to use a walker the short distance from the reception area to the treatment room.
