Introduction

Last year, a 15 year old patient at the dental practice where you work, was involved in an automobile accident. Injury to his neck left him paralyzed (quadraplegic) and confined to a hospital bed in his home. You have been his dental hygienist since he was a little boy. Your dentist and the patient’s family have asked you to provide dental hygiene services at the patient’s home. What should you bring with you to provide care and how is care provided once you are there?
