Goal of Assignment:

Provide students an opportunity to identify motivation within characters of a movie and associate them with psychology terms/theories for further understanding. Your task in this exercise is to choose a movie and discuss the behavior of the characters, the consequences of their behavior, and the motivation for their behavior. Students must understand theories of motivation and describe the motivation of characters through those theories of motivation as discussed in chapter 10.

Directions:

The paper should be at least 3 pages in length, double spaced. Students should be sure to put their name and section number at the top of the paper. Students will identify a movie and relate the characters from the movie to the motivation theories from chapter 10.

Successful completion of the paper will provide a minimum of six correlations of the motivation theories/terms from the chapter/lecture and associate those with character motivation from their chosen movie. Students should identify multiple characters from the movie to identify a variety of motivations. Students should also identify the evolution of a character’s motivation throughout the progression of the movie.
