Identify 10 behaviors that most would agree constitute police misconduct. Order these behaviors with 1 being the most severe form of misconduct and 10 the least troublesome behavior. Then explain the punishments, one for each behavior, you would use when disciplining an officer under your command who has violated the agency’s policy on officer conduct and share the explanation you would provide the officer when administering the sanction. Your reasoning to support the punishment you selected should be clearly and concisely expressed in one to three sentences for each sanction.
