I am working on an enzyme catalysis lab.  I’m not sure what the hypothesis should be.  Here is the overview:  This lab activity investigates the enzyme catalase, which enhances

the decomposition of a toxic by-product of cellular metabolism,

hydrogen peroxide (H

). The effects of concentration, tempera-

ture, and pH on the enzyme’s reaction rate will be measured

Outcomes

• Observe the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide as a result of

the enzymatic activity of catalase.

• Measure the effect of concentration on catalase activity.

• Determine the effects of temperature on catalase activity.

• Determine the effects of pH on catalase activity.
