Historians have described the period from 1820-1860 in many ways. Broadly, it is known as the “antebellum” era (ante= before,bellum= war) because it preceded the Civil War. But of course Americans alive during this period would not have called it that, or understood their times in that way. Using what you know about this period, give it a new and more appropriate name. Explain and justify your response with appropriate evidence.
