Each weekly topic builds on the theme of creating person- centred workplace cultures. Drawing on the Person-centred Practice Framework (McCormack & McCance, 2017), you will examine how to create the conditions for person-centred outcomes for patients, staff, teams and organisations.

Each topic focuses on key contributors to person-centred healthcare cultures at different levels:

·          Week 7: Prerequisites of healthcare professionals – which focuses on the skills and capabilities of the RN

·          Week 8: The care environment – which focuses on the context in which care is delivered

·          Week 9: Person-centred care processes – which focuses on direct patient care activities

·          Define person-centred care using a range of evidence-based literature – as well as creatively in a way that is most meaningful to your group.

·          Focused only on the factors relevant to your week’s topic, identify and discuss the key contributors to person-centred nursing. (So The Care Environment)

·          Analyse the leadership challenges for enacting these components identified in the real world of practice.

·          Find and present at least one good example of a practice innovation or initiative in healthcare designed to support person-centred care at the level of your topic (there are bonus marks for those who discuss nurse-led innovations).

Then use your YouTube video as the basis of a TED-Ed Lessonto create an online learning activity for the whole class. The purpose is to lead your tutorial to explore your allocated topic in more depth over that week.

The success of the activity will be judged on how well you engaged the class to develop a thoughtful exploration of the topic.

·          We recommend using the narrated PowerPoint function to audio-record your presentation. However, you can use whatever technology you choose that will record an audio- visual presentation, providing the final product is in a video format that can be shared on the TED-Ed platform.

·          Your tutor must be able to open and clearly hear your presentation: otherwise it will not be marked and your group will receive a grade of 1.

·          Use QUT APA referencing for citing academic literature in your presentation.
