Assume your employer, a small hospital which opened its doors in 1970, does not have a strategic plan. As a senior hospital administrator, it is your job to persuade the CEO that a strategic plan is essential for the organization to achieve success.

Develop a paper that defines the term strategic planning and includes but is not necessarily limited to the benefits of strategic planning. Then, explain how strategic planning’s application has changed from the past (and why it is now necessary). Evaluate the role of strategic planning and related outcomes in healthcare to support your argument to management.

Support your paper with examples or experiences of your own to strengthen your argument for a strategic plan.

Support your paper with a minimum of seven scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 8 pages, not including title and reference pages

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
