Each student will submit a typed 2 page case study to the instructor Age and gender of the patient • Primary diagnosis (briefly explain why the procedure was performed) —–this pt came in because she was jumping around and landed wrong on her foot. Her pain was in the lateral side of the foot – Purpose of the procedure ——for this case the doctored ordered a complete foot xray so we did ap projection for left foot, oblique and lateral projections.
• Radiologist interpretation (include Radiologist’s report) —–for this case study the radiologist report says , there is a comminuted fracture at the base of the fifth .the fracture extends to the tarsometarsal joint space.No significant displacement of the fracture is seen.Acute comminuted fracture of the base of the fifth metatarsal with intra-articular extension—-
• Discuss pathology (what was found and significance)
• Any other relevant or interesting information -the paper how is the correct positioning a AP projection ,oblique and lateral of the foot, where the central ray is placed -must also include what anatomy we are supposed to see in each of the images ap foot oblique and lateral image must youse journals or articles for references
