A bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each APA citation is followed by a brief (between 150 to 250 words) descriptive, critical, and evaluative paragraph, the critical annotation. The purpose of the critical annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. Creating a critical annotated bibliography calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills: concise exposition, succinct analysis, and informed library research.

The process. First, locate and record APA bibliographies for journal articles that may contain useful information and ideas on your topic. Briefly examine and review the actual items.
