1.Human species have been around for the past 200,000 years, and regardless of changes to the life processes we went through we somehow manage to survive the crisis and stay productive. If increase in the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases, CO2, methane emissions, etc., is not driven motives to bring us together at national and international level to find solutions to the eminent global energy crisis, a new era of scarcity of water, energy, food, etc., could threaten our livelihood for many years to come. And this applies to waste products damages to the world’s ecosystems, biodiversity, ecological integrity…When we see developed countries dumping toxic or hazardous wastes in poor countries in exchange for “financial assistance” one wonders how serious we are when it comes to sustain an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture. Change of behavior will help us find better ways to allocate the scarce resources to meet the public demand, create a new mentality to get ways to efficiently discharge waste materials through recycling – and this is not attainable by one single country.

2.Whether human species can or not be regarded as keystone species … the button line here is that the ecosystem damages we have caused to the earth may never be reversible …Depletion of natural resources and environment pollution may bring about catastrophic consequences upon which we should learn how to better deal with climate change. And if we suddenly disappeared so would everything we domesticate: crop plants, livestock,pets,etc. Endangered animals, including whale, sharks and chimpanzees would be most happy in our absence.

3.Low-energy lifestyle requires a paradigm change of thinking in utility consumption. Unless households and policymakers understand the concept of high performance low energy consumption is attainable, the market will continue to be regulated by high profits mindset. Who will embrace the philosophy of low energy lifestyle when it cannot even have resonance in the white house?
