The data for the CLEA Transit of Mercury exercise consists of three series of images taken with these telescopes on May 7, 2003: 10 images from El Teide between 7:20 and 8:15 Universal Time 70 images from Udaipur between 5:10 and 10:55 Universal Time 10 images from Learmonth between 6:40 and 7:30 Universal Time You can use the same procedure you used for the Venus transit to derive the length of the Astronomical Unit from the Mercury transit. Do that, and compare the two values. Here are some questions to consider: Before you begin, do you think that the Mercury transit will yield more precise results? Why or Why not?
